At approximately 3:40 p.m., plainclothes detectives were at a convenience store in the 2400 block of East Carson Street investigating a robbery that had just occurred.
In that incident, an adult male entered the store and demanded multiple packages of cigarettes before exiting. No weapons were involved and there were no injuries to the store’s staff.
While detectives were on scene, they felt the building shake and heard breaking glass. When they went outside to investigate, they discovered an adult female who was pinned between the building and a vehicle.
She was able to self-extricate after the vehicle reversed. She was conscious, alert, and speaking with officers. Medic 8 transported her to UMPC Presbyterian Hospital in stable condition with a leg injury.
The adult female driver stayed on the scene, but was found to not have a valid driver’s license. She was taken into custody and transported to the Allegheny County Jail.
The store sustained minor damage to the exterior.
Zone 3 plainclothes detectives are continuing to investigate the initial robbery.
