Police Make Arrest in Armed Business Robbery

Summary:

Just after 9 p.m. on January 28, 2024, Pittsburgh Police responded to the Dollar General at 5800 Buttermilk Hollow Road for a reported armed robbery.

Employees told police a male entered the store and walked around a bit before bringing an item to the counter and ordering two employees to open their cash drawers. They told officers he had a gun and threatened to kill them as he fled the store. He got away with about $450 from one of the cash drawers.

Detectives were able to track the actor and bring him in to be interviewed where he confessed to the crime.

William Posey, 55, is charged with two counts of robbery, two counts of terroristic threats, theft by unlawful taking, and prohibited acts.

Posey also had two active arrest warrants from Tennessee and Virginia. He was transported to the Allegheny County Jail.
