Police Respond to Strip District Business for Accidental Shooting

Summary:
Pittsburgh Police and EMS responded to Cheerleaders at 3100 Liberty Avenue for reports of a female with a gunshot wound just before 7:30 p.m.
Arriving units attended to a 21-year-old female employee who said she was going through her bag in the ladies room when her firearm accidentally discharged. She suffered a through and through wound to her thigh. Medics transported her to the hospital in stable condition.
The Violent Crime Unit also responded to the scene.
The firearm was legally owned. No charges are anticipated at this time.
