SWAT Responds for Male with Outstanding Warrants in Spring Garden

At approximately 6:30 p.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 1 responded to the 1200 block of Seidle Street in Spring Garden to serve a PFA (Protection From Abuse) order.

When police arrived, family members in the home confirmed with officers that the male actor had outstanding warrants from multiple other jurisdictions. Neighbors also told officers that they had recently seen the actor with a firearm.

The adult family members were safely evacuated from the house.

The male actor proceeded to barricade himself on the second floor of the residence. SWAT operators were called out and attempted to make contact with the male through multiple hails, but were unsuccessful.

The actor was able to access a covert area of the roof through an upper-story window and attempted to elude police by remaining there. However, he was apprehended and taken into custody at 8:56 p.m.

He was transported to an area hospital for medical clearance.
