Pittsburgh Police Make Significant Drug Bust in Brighton Heights

Summary:

Over the past month, Pittsburgh Police detectives from Narcotics and Vice have been investigating reports of drug trafficking from a residence in the 1200 block of Benton Avenue in the Brighton Heights section of the City of Pittsburgh. On August 30, as part of their ongoing investigation, detectives served a search warrant at this residence with the assistance of PBP SWAT.

At the time the search warrant was served, the following individuals were inside the residence:

  • Dion Anderson, 32
  • Raymond Moon, 30
  • Raynell Moon, 30

When Anderson was searched, detectives found more than $6,000 cash in one of his pant pockets. Raymond Moon had more than $600 cash in one of his pockets. 

A search of the residence was conducted and detectives recovered the following items:

  • A backpack containing 104 bricks of heroin (approx. 5,200 stamp bags).
  • A Ziplock bag containing 395 bundles of heroin (approx. 3,950 stamp bags).
  • A large bag containing what appears to be raw heroin and/or fentanyl.
  • Drug packaging materials.
  • A pistol magazine, holster, and ammunition.
  • A camouflage flak jacket.
  • Evidence for all three individuals connecting them to the residence.

Dion Anderson, Raymond Moon and Raynell Moon were arrested and each was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Criminal Conspiracy. All three were transported to the Allegheny County Jail.
