Pittsburgh Police officers from Zone 5 responded to a robbery in progress with a possible weapon at the Dollar General at 4725 Centre Avenue just before 9:30 p.m. on September 2.
When they arrived on scene they met with two employees who say a male suspect entered the store and walked around before approaching the counter with his hand under his shirt at his waistband.
The employees told officers he demanded money and left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. He then fled the store.
At the time of the robbery he was described as wearing a white t-shirt with black stripes and red-striped sleeves. He was also wearing a black ball cap and jean shorts and is described as between 45-60 years of age.
Detectives from the Mobile Crime Unit and GVI processed the scene.
The investigation continues.
