Pittsburgh Police officers from Zone 3 responded to a 911 call of a shot fired in the 300 block of Fingal Street just before 3:30 p.m.
When officers arrived on scene they found a juvenile male inside a residence who had suffered a single gunshot wound.
He was transported by EMS to a local hospital in critical condition.
Detectives from Major Crimes arrived to process the scene.
Another juvenile male who was an occupant in the home at the time of the incident was taken for questioning by police.
The investigation continues.
UPDATE: After being taken to the hospital in critical condition, the 16-year-old victim in this incident has since died of his injuries.
