Pittsburgh Bureau of Police officers from Zone 3 responded to a possible domestic violence call at the 200 block of Fernleaf Street.
When officers arrived they spoke with a male who was cooperative at first and appeared to be leading them back to an apartment to talk. While speaking with the male, he suddenly ran inside an apartment and barricaded himself, refusing to come out.
The initial investigation found the male had outstanding warrants. It was unknown whether he had any weapons.
SWAT was called in to assist and ensure that there were no other occupants inside the apartment. The suspect eventually surrendered without incident.
Police continue to investigate.
