Pittsburgh Police officers from Zone 5 responded to a report of a child hit by a vehicle in the 200 block of Gross Street at about 7:30 p.m.
When they arrived on scene they found a 7-year-old boy who had been crossing the street when he was struck by the vehicle. He was transported to the hospital by EMS in stable condition with a leg injury.
Police say the male driver initially left the scene before coming back to talk to them.
He faces a possible citation.
Police are investigating.
UPDATE: 4:28 p.m. 11/01/19 The driver of the vehicle received a citation for leaving the scene of an accident.
Regarding multiple inquiries about whether the child was trick-or-treating when this incident occurred, police are unable to confirm at this time.
