Pittsburgh Police officers from Zone 5 responded to a ShotSpotter alert of shots fired on the 4800 block of Rosetta Street just before 2 p.m.
While they were en route to the area, they were informed that a female victim had walked into a local hospital with a gunshot wound. She arrived in stable condition.
Police believe the two incidents may be connected.
VCU detectives are investigating.
