Police Called After Baby Left on Porch

Summary:

Pittsburgh Bureau of Police officers conducted a welfare check on a baby at a residence on the 1900 block of Termon Avenue around 12:30 a.m.

Responding officers from Zone 1 spoke to a woman who said she heard knocking on her door for several minutes, and that when she checked the door she found that someone had left a baby bundled up in clothes in a baby carrier on her porch.

Per the investigation: The baby has been identified, the baby is believed to be related to the woman who called police, and the incident is believed to be part of a domestic dispute involving the baby's parents, one or both of whom are juveniles.

Medics transported the baby to Children’s Hospital in good health.

The investigation continues. Police are conferring with CYS to determine custody of the baby and possible charges.
