Pittsburgh Bureau of Police and EMS responded to a report of an unresponsive child on the 1000 block of Village Road around 4:30 a.m.
The child’s mother told responding officers from Zone 6 that when she checked on the 11-year-old boy in his bed he was not breathing. She called 911 and was instructed to place him on the floor and begin CPR, which she did.
The boy had significant medical issues and could not walk or talk.
Police are investigating the cause of the death.
