UPDATE: Police, Fire, EMS Respond to Pedestrian Hit and Run on North Side

Summary:

Pittsburgh Police from Zone 1, Fire and EMS responded to a report of a pedestrian hit and run on Chateau Street at Columbus Street just after 7 a.m. 

When first responders arrived on scene they found a male on the road in traumatic arrest. He was transported by EMS to a local a hospital and was pronounced deceased shortly after 7:30 a.m.

There is no description of the suspect vehicle at this time. A male motorist who was travelling on Chateau Street came across the victim and called 911. He did not witness the collision.

The Collision Investigation and Crime Scene Investigation Units processed the scene.

UPDATE: 01/24/20 at 4:40 p.m. Pittsburgh Police would like to provide the public with a description of the suspect vehicle involved in this fatal hit and run incident.

Police are looking for a Grey or Gunmetal Grey sedan with tinted windows, possibly a Volvo product.
