UPDATE 2: Pittsburgh Police Respond to Reported Abduction Attempt

Summary:

Pittsburgh Police officers from Zone 5 were called to the 300 block of N. Euclid for a report of an attempted abduction just before 7 p.m.

Responding officers spoke with a juvenile female, a teenager, who said two men tried to abduct her near Fifth and Penn before she ran from them. She was not injured.

Police are currently searching for a crime scene and are reviewing all available camera footage in the area. 

The Special Victims Unit (formerly the Missing Persons, Sex Assault and Family Crisis unit) will be taking over the investigation, which is ongoing.

UPDATE (9:55 a.m. 2/12/20): The update to this entry provides a more specific location of where the victim told police this incident occurred, which is Fifth and Penn. 

UPDATE 2 (9:50 a.m., 2/24/20): This report has been determined to be unfounded.
