UPDATE: Police Respond to Parking Garage Carjacking

Summary:

Pittsburgh Police from Zone 5 responded to a 9-1-1 call of a carjacking in the lower parking garage of the Target store in the 6200 block of Penn Avenue in East Liberty just before 6 p.m.

When responding officers arrived on scene they found a male victim who had received a significant wound to the back of his head. It is unclear whether a weapon was used to injure the victim.

Before being transported to the hospital by EMS for treatment, the victim told police multiple male actors, possibly juveniles, attacked him. Two of the males stole his vehicle, a blue 2011 Jeep Patriot. There were no other passengers or victims. 

At least two other males fled the scene on foot. Police are interviewing witnesses and will be reviewing all available surveillance video.

The Crime Scene Unit is processing the scene.

The investigation continues. 

UPDATE: 03/5/20 5:57 a.m. Pittsburgh Police have arrested four juveniles in connection with this incident. They have all been admitted to Shuman Juvenile Detention Center.
