Pittsburgh Police from Zone 2 responded to a 9-1-1 call for a disabled vehicle on the railroad tracks on Railroad St. at 23rd St. just after midnight.
While tending to the vehicle, the responding officer's marked cruiser, which had emergency lights engaged, was rear-ended by another driver.
There were no injuries to any of the parties involved.
Police arrested the driver of the vehicle that struck the police cruiser at the scene. Charges are pending.
The investigation continues.
UPDATE: 03/09/20 9:31 a.m. Police arrested Dontel Sayles, 29, of McKeesport at the scene. He is charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Controlled Substances, Reckless Driving, and other charges.
