Pittsburgh Bureau of Police officers from Zone 5 responded to a Shotspotter alert for the 1300 block of N Murtland Street around 1:50 p.m.
Responding officers along with EMS attended to a male suffering a gunshot wound to the leg. The suspect fled in an unknown direction.
The male victim was first treated on scene by an officer. Medics transported him to a local hospital in stable condition.
Westinghouse Academy was placed on a brief lockdown. The lockdown was lifted once officers determined there was no active threat.
Police are investigating.
