Pittsburgh Bureau of Police officers from Zone 5 were called to a welfare check for the 7000 block of Forest Way around 5:25 a.m.
Responding officers were met by a male who stated he had taken drugs and was afraid of his surroundings. Officers transported him to a local hospital for an evaluation. While at the hospital, the male stepped outside to place a 9-1-1 call requesting police return to the residence.
Officers along with EMS made second stop to the 7000 block of Forest Way where they discovered a deceased female.
Police are investigating.
UPDATE: James Wilson, 34, of no fixed address, is charged with Criminal Homicide in connection with this case. He is currently being housed in Allegheny County Jail.
