UPDATE (2:22 p.m., March 24, 2020) — The driver of the vehicle who exhibited symptoms similar to COVID-19 was tested and the results came back negative.
The officers who responded are no longer on self-isolation and continue to show no symptoms. All are returning to their regular shifts.
ORIGINAL POST: Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Officers from Zone 2 responded to a minor collision involving two vehicles in Market Square today around noon.
One of the drivers was determined to exhibit symptoms similar to COVID-19. The driver was transported to a local hospital for testing.
Out of an abundance of caution, officers who were at the crash scene were sent home to self-isolate until the matter is further evaluated. None of the officers are showing symptoms.
