Police, EMS Respond to Motorcycle v. Vehicle Collision

Summary:

Pittsburgh Police officers from Zone 4 responded to 9-1-1 calls for a motorcycle that had broadsided a vehicle at the intersection of Meyran Avenue and Louisa Street at around 4:40 p.m.

When officers arrived on scene they found the male motorcycle driver who was on the ground bleeding from the head. He was transported to the hospital by EMS in critical condition where he was later pronounced deceased. There were no injuries to the driver of the vehicle and there were no passengers.

The Collision Investigation Unit was on scene and is investigating.

The exact cause of death and identity of the victim will be released by the Medical Examiner's Office.
