ORIGINAL POST: (April 22, 2020) -- Pittsburgh Bureau of Police officers responded to the 7300 block of Bennett Street around 8:30 a.m. for a ShotSpotter alert of gunfire.
On scene, officers encountered a male victim with a gunshot wound to his right hand. Medics transported him to a local hospital in stable condition.
A second male victim, who suffered a gunshot wound to the head, arrived at a local hospital by private means. He was admitted in critical condition.
Both victims were seated in a parked vehicle when they were fired upon. Detectives with the Violent Crime Unit are leading the investigation.
UPDATE (April 30, 2020 – 11 p.m.) -- The victim who suffered a gunshot wound to the head died. The Medical Examiner’s Office will release the victim’s identity, as well as cause and manner.
The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police continued to investigate and earlier today detectives arrested Darryn Hobson, 20, of the South Side on charges of criminal homicide, aggravated assault, carrying a firearm without a license and reckless endangerment.
The investigation continues.
