Police, EMS, and Fire Respond To A Pedestrian Struck By A Vehicle On Liberty Avenue

Summary:
Pittsburgh Police, Fire and EMS responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at the intersection of 17th street and Liberty Avenue around 4 p.m.
When first responders arrived on scene they observed a female trapped under a vehicle. The victim was alert and talking to medics.
Medics from Rescue 1 placed airbags underneath to lift the vehicle, and blocks to keep it stable. The woman was extricated from under the vehicle in about 10 minutes. She was transported by medic 14 to a local hospital in serious condition.
The driver stayed on scene and was cooperative.
Police are investigating.
