Pittsburgh Police from Zone 6 responded to reports of a shooting inside a residence in the 700 block of Lorenz Avenue just before 10 p.m.
When responding officers arrived on scene they found a male victim shot in the hip. He was alert and conscious.
The victim told police two males showed up at his door and asked to use the phone before forcing their way inside where the shooting occurred. The male was transported to the hospital by medics in stable condition.
VCU detectives and the Mobile Crime Unit processed the scene.
There are no arrests at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
Update/Clarification: One male suspect was in view when the victim answered the door and asked to use the phone, the other appeared after the door was opened.
