Pittsburgh Police from Zone 6 responded to reports of a domestic incident in the 800 block of Norwich Avenue around 3:30 p.m.
When responding officers arrived on scene they were met by a female outside of a residence who told them a male was inside, possibly with a firearm.
When the male first spoke with police he told them he was not coming out and barricaded himself inside the residence. Out of an abundance of caution SWAT was called to the scene.
Police tactical negotiators were able to quickly establish and maintain contact with the male via cell phone, encouraging him to safely exit the residence.
After nearly two hours of speaking with the male, he surrendered without incident and was taken into custody. Charges are pending.
