Police Respond for Pedestrian Hit and Run in Lawrenceville

Summary:
Pittsburgh Police from Zone 2 responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at the intersection of 40th Street and Penn Avenue around 12:30 p.m.
Responding officers found a male victim in a wheelchair who was alert and conscious. He was transported to the hospital by EMS in stable condition for evaluation.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene. Police are following up on witness accounts and descriptions of the vehicle and license plate.
The investigation is ongoing.
