Pittsburgh Fire Responded to a 1-Alarm Fire in Wilkinsburg

Summary:

Firefighters with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire responded to a 1-alarm fire on the 1500 block of Wood Street in Wilkinsburg around 10 a.m.

When firefighters arrived they saw heavy smoke coming from the top floor of the structure. A resident was able to get out, and sustained a burn injury to the face.

Two firefighters were injured. One suffered a burn on the left leg. The second injured his back. Both were transported to Mercy Hospital in stable condition.

The Fire Investigation Unit is investigating the cause.
