Q&ATell us more about YP Summer Programs! What do they focus on, and who should attend?
YP Summer Programs offers kids aged 12 to 18 a unique opportunity to make new friends, learn new skills, and discover new passions! YouthPlaces hosts exciting summer programs for those interested in:
- Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM)
- Fun Field Trips
YP Summer Programs are designed to connect Pittsburgh’s youth and offer safe, fun, and productive activities for young people. YouthPlaces focuses our efforts on under-served youth in high-risk communities where few other agencies operate. Our high-quality afterschool and summer programs engage youth from within their community, and are responsive to input and feedback from youth leaders and the community as a whole.Why should I attend?
If you are a kid or teen interested in making new friends, learning new skills, or engaging your creative side, there’s a program for you at YouthPlaces! Spend the summer months having fun, developing hobbies, and creating connections with other young people in your neighborhood and from across Pittsburgh. YP Summer Programs will also link you to YouthPlaces’ other offerings, which include mentorship, college and career readiness activities, academic tutoring, leadership and social development, and long-term health and wellness development.What is the cost?
YP programs are 100% free of charge. Our summer programs also include a field trip to Kennywood Amusement Park on August 10, as well as a super fun end-of-summer party to celebrate students and the conclusion of summer programming.What are the times and locations for YP Summer Programs?
